While PTTing my HT via a hotspot in the same network where we have our HBlink server, I can see (by doing a #tail -f /tmp/hblink.log) that there is an error: INFO 2020-10-06 17:21:17,274 (MASTER-1) *CALL START* STREAM ID: 3146637437 SUB: 1106297 (1106297) PEER: 1106297 (1106297) TGID 33426 (33426), TS 2 INFO 2020-10-06 17:21:17,276 (MASTER-1) Conference Bridge: SONORA, Call Bridged to HBP System: REPEATER-1 TS: 2, TGID: 33426 ERROR 2020-10-06 17:21:17,995 (MASTER-1) Unrecognized command. That’s a DMRA packet, which would appear to be a HBP packet for DMR Talker Alias. HBlink does not process those currently. The “error" will not affect functionality.

Cort I found something interesting that may give you a clue of why the error is happening even though it does not affect functionality of the HBLink: If I use my Anytone D878 I get the the error I posted below, If I use my Motorola XPR7550e I don’t get any error at all, I did this experiment several times and it is the same result, the Anytone D878 will cause that error to appear in the hblink.log file and the Motorola handheld does not produce any errors at all while transmitting to my hotspot connected to the HBLink server. Anytone D878 does talker alias. No Motorola radios do. The opcode type is “DMRA” for talker alias and that’s the 4-byte opcode of the error message. This isn’t a new situation. It has come up before.

You Can disable the TA on send in the 878 and that should fix the problem.
