Welcome to DVSwitch
DVSwitch is a set of tools and programs related to provisioning and operating Amateur Radio digital voice networks.
Purpose
The purpose of DVSwitch is as follows:
1) Allows “local” networking during an outage of the regional national/international network server.
2) Allows a local network operator to “blend” upstream feeds from different Networks (capital N on purpose). These Networks can’t get their act together and learn how to play nice with each other (everyone guilty as far as we are concerned). They may not like people doing this, but the solution is to grow up and work with each other, and not keep trying to force people to take sides.
3) Allows local segregation of localized traffic with more flexibility.
4) Allows experimentation with linking and how it’s done (part 97 specifies experimentation and advancement of the radio art are a core part of amateur radio).

Mission Statement/Position
Our stated position is:
WHEREAS the Networks continue to be largely islands and are not working together to create a unified network of Networks.
WHEREAS no firm reason has been given by any of the Networks why a *competent* local network operator cannot make this work effectively.
(US ONLY)
WHEREAS 47 CFR 97 (Amateur Radio Service) specifies that a core component of amateur radio is experimentation and advancement of the radio art [97.1(b)].
BE IT RESOLVED the core group of US amateur radio operators and experimenters organized around the DVSwitch project, and in the spirit of USA 47 CFR 97 and its intentions, support the *responsible* and *thoughtful* use of digital voice networking tools to create localized networks that will interconnect to the national/international Networks, and will support users of its tools in order to do this in the most effective and sustainable way possible.

JB,

MMDVM_Bridge can login to BM. You would configure it just like you would MMDVMHost for BM. You may be getting socket errors of HB_Bridge is running at the same time. Hope this helps, 73, Steve N4IRS

Some guidance please. I have partial setup where Brandmeister login is accomplished by HB_Bridge and it is passing traffic. So far all may attempt at configuring it end up with socket errors. Am I off base and do I need to go back to HB_Bridge and include it in the chain?? Part of my confusing is the dvswitch.ini and MMDVM_Bridge.ini seem to work together (or against in my case) each other. I admit I do not yet have a clear understanding of ins and outs of some of the modules (i.e. Partners).

Re: Call routing cluster
It's HBlink.

I am assuming the confbridge. Is this dmrlink or hblink?

Re: Call routing cluster
Hi guys,
some time passed and i'm back with questions :-) I spent some time, played a lot and had a lot of fun. But still don't know how to assign repeater to particular "cluster". I've done a diagram since one picture says more than thousand words. It means that when somebody is using TG 11 then just repeaters 2301, 2302, 2306 are active and transmitting. Rest of repeaters are in idle. The same scenario for another groups - TG 12 activates just 2304, 2305, 2306; TG 14 activates 2302, 2305, 2308 and TG 1 activates all repeaters. 73 de Petr, OK2ZAR.

Ok, perfect, but yes i connect a server HBLINK, how can select only one tg parcitular?
It very important, can available select all traffic or only one or two tg from mmdvm_bridge. Many thx Steve. Congratulations for great work.

Re: BrandMeister to XLX
You can control the traffic from BM with the selfcare account for
that Repeater ID / Callsign.

Ok, perfect, many thx.
I will do tests with DMRGateway to see if it works. And I inform him. It would be a great advance that from MMDVM_Bridge we have the option of passing all the connection traffic bm or being able to select ONLY the Traffic of a TG in particular.

Re: BrandMeister to XLX
We can look at it but for now, use DMRGateway with MMDVM_Bridge.

Yes information it in https://github.com/g4klx/DMRGateway/blob/master/DMRGateway.ini
The idea is MMDVM_Bridge (connect BM can Select TG for example 21461) <-> MMDVM_Bridge1 (connect XLX 051 Room G for example). But for all it, any need add DMRGateway. Need MMDVM_Bridge have available select TG de BM and available connect XLX to Room Specific.

Re: BrandMeister to XLX
I moved this discussion to the topic "
BrandMeister to XLX"

Re: BrandMeister to XLX
EA5GVK Joaquin
also if you could add selection option in the section of DMR, DVSwicth.ini, Select the TG you want to bridge.
This would be magnificent.
|
|
Re: BrandMeister to XLX
My first guess is you will need to add DMRGateway. MMDVM_Bridge will
connect to a server exactly like MMDVMHost, so if you can do it with
MMDVMHost, you can do it with MMDVM_Bridge.

Is there information on how to connect to a XLX room with DMRGateway available? Steve N4IRS

With MMDVM, I have to connect through DMRGateway.
But yes, MMDVM_Bridge available functions automatic select Inicital Room, it is fine.

Re: BrandMeister to XLX
How would you do it with a MMDVM?

Re: BrandMeister to XLX
Yes, it's possible to do this. It would take 2 instances of
MMDVM_Bridge. One connected to BM and the second connected to XLX.
Each MMDVM_Bridge would need to be in a separate directory so that
each MMDVM_Bridge would have a local copy of DVSwitch.ini and
MMDVM_Bridge.ini

As always, buld from the outside in. Connect the first MMDVM_Bridge to BM. Make sure it's logging in properly and receiving data from BM. The connect the second MMDVM_Bridge to XLX. Make sure it's logging in and receiving data. Point the DMR TX and RX port at the XLX RX and TX ports. Traffic should pass from XLX to BM. Run each program in the foreground so you can watch waht is happening. 73, Steve N4IRS

How can I bridge a TG xxx DMR from Brandmeister to a Reflector XLX xxx Room X DMR?
please. Would there be any way to incorporate this possibility in the MMDVM_Bridge? Thank you.
