Courtesy tones

I have an ASL to DMR bridge running. It connects my repeater to my own talk group. One thing I don't like is that on the DMR side I don't have a courtesy to and I have to wonder if my call went through. I have found this an issue on other talk groups as well. (When running my jumbospot through my cellphone hotspot) Is there a way to turn on a courtesy tone? I have changed a few settings but had no luck.

Hi Steve

If one runs multiple instances of MMDVM_Bridge, How does the program know where to pick up the corresponding DVSwitch.ini?

Thanks Steve

so this will work?

MMDVM_Bridge talks directly to the reflector.

Re: Blog with P25<->DMR Info

All,

I've made significant progress. I've been able to verify the P25 reflector is working.
However, the bridge appears to be one way only. the DMR traffic is being heard on the P25 reflector but not the other way around.
The dashboard and logs show the P25 transmission so i'm not sure why it's not being heard on the DMR side?

I did notice in the logs it's showing the src as:
I: 2019-02-22 15:56:40.942 P25, Begin TX: src=3128720 rpt=313666507 dst=31777 slot=2 cc=1
should be src=3128767

not exaclty sure why that would cause and audio issue but it's the only odd thing i saw in the logs.

I'm attaching the latest logs and ini if anyone can assist??

Yes, USRP_Audio.py will do what you want. If I understand, you want to send analog_audio from your USB sound device to a DMR TG. it would look like this:

USB-audio <-> USRP_Audio <-> Analog_Bridge <-> MMDVM_Bridge <-> hb_confbridge.

The concern I have is PTT. You will have to modify USRP_Audio to send audio full time since there is no VOX.

I would be happy to get some help for my project here. Can I do this without ASL ? In the first step, I just want to monitor an analog audio source to DMR-TG, which will be switched on and off with hblink itself.

Well as I have often said garbage in garbage out. I finally figured out what I had done wrong. It seems that if you get your gatewayDmrId and your repeaterID reversed things won't work as planned.

When I key my analog radio, although it looks like it is passing through, I see nothing on Brandmeister. I see Brandmeister activity when I talk on my DMR radio but not the analog radio.

I turned off the PC I was working on and went back to the Raspberry Pi. I have it where it will key from either side now. I do have one problem that the PC was having. I am not getting anything from the analog side. When I key my analog radio nothing is passed through to DMR.

I have an Allstar node that controls my repeater. I also have this DMR bridge which is on a separate raspberry pi. I have them connected through allstar. I am wondering if my problem is not something in my allstar setup. It passes audio from the DMR side but not from the allstar side.

I have attached analog_bridge and mmdvm_bridge log files. I cannot find one for md380-emu. When this happens I can still see activity on brandmeister when I key the repeater. I ran CLI, analog_bridge and mmdvm_bridge in the foreground. No errors just no activity on them.

I finally figured out most of the problem I was having with my bridge. The problem I a left with is this. After I restart my hotspot I can key my DMR radio and my analog repeater keys up. This works for a while but after I key up on the analog side the DMR side won't key the repeater anymore. Also there is no audio passing from analog to digital.

Re: using ACLs

Jim Gifford - K9AGR

Just want to point out that you could use the newest code as a confbridge "hub", and connect the IPSC/HB bridge to that hub, and the clients can connect to that hub, then you have your ACL access.  Clients then aren't directly connected to your bridge set.  The extra layer doesn't adversely affect the communications latency as far as I can tell.
