Welcome to DVSwitch
Purpose
1) Allows “local” networking during an outage of the regional national/international network server.
2) Allows a local network operator to “blend” upstream feeds from different Networks (capital N on purpose). These Networks can’t get their act together and learn how to play nice with each other (everyone guilty as far as we are concerned). They may not like people doing this, but the solution is to grow up and work with each other, and not keep trying to force people to take sides.
3) Allows local segregation of localized traffic with more flexibility.
4) Allows experimentation with linking and how it’s done (part 97 specifies experimentation and advancement of the radio art are a core part of amateur radio).
Mission Statement/Position
WHEREAS the Networks continue to be largely islands and are not working together to create a unified network of Networks.
WHEREAS no firm reason has been given by any of the Networks why a *competent* local network operator cannot make this work effectively.
(US ONLY)
WHEREAS 47 CFR 97 (Amateur Radio Service) specifies that a core component of amateur radio is experimentation and advancement of the radio art [97.1(b)].
BE IT RESOLVED the core group of US amateur radio operators and experimenters organized around the DVSwitch project, and in the spirit of USA 47 CFR 97 and its intentions, support the *responsible* and *thoughtful* use of digital voice networking tools to create localized networks that will interconnect to the national/international Networks, and will support users of its tools in order to do this in the most effective and sustainable way possible.
Re: Dv switch link
My example was not exactly correct because I have many in my set-up and the context was not paired correctly. sorry In extensions.conf [iax-client] ; for IAX VIOP clients.
<------------------- in iax.conf [iax-user] Please note that the callsign will need to be used in the app and will announce the connection when complete using this method.

I gotcha, the "set up on my pc" part was a bit too vague for me :) There is a doc on hamvoip that's pretty close to my setup for DVSM that can get him started.

No... he just needs the correct set-up for a inbound connection in iax and extensions. I can't find a official document.

Re: Dv switch link
I think there's a bit of confusion here. DVSwitch Mobile is an application that allows you to use your phone to connect to an AllStarLink or USRP node. You will need to first set up either AllStarLink or Analog_Bridge, and then you will be able to use DVSwitch Mobile. This specific board you are messaging here is for the DVSwitch application suite that allows bridging of networks, be it either ASL, DMR, YSF, D-Star, P25, or NXDN. So, the question stands - are you trying to set up DVSwitch Mobile to access an ASL or USRP node, or are you trying to bridge a network?

Re: Dv switch link
You'll have to be a little more specific as to what you want to accomplish. There are a lot of docs in the wiki that can get you started.

Re: Dv switch link
Here are some instructions for installing dvswitch and setting up DMR for it.
I don't know if there is something else newer. Do not skip over any of it. Read it all, then install. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eN50Csr29eAprBu7eKA0Bfa2XUcsXw5iktY1Ey-Qjkg/edit

Guessing you are referring to DMR, AB set minTxTimeMS = higher , 2000 works for me but I think you may need 2500 (miliseconds) It says that if it is shorter, it will be at least that.

Re: ALLSTAR to DMR Bridge
Hey, we're all in this together, right? :) I'm glad to help. The instructions as they're laid out right now will get you to a point where you can connect ASL to a DMR network. The components needed are AB, MB, and md380-emu. You may not need DMRGateway, recently I've been dropping it as a requirement in my deployments. If you need a hand on getting the systemd stuff going, let me know. You could also probably take a copy of the scripts used in the Debian distribution, since I set the folders and locations the same. Also missing is the scripts to get the DMR ID files. I'll work on that after lunch. Steve KC1AWV

Re: ALLSTAR to DMR Bridge
I'm probably 35% done on the manual CentOS directions. You can probably ignore the vagrant part at the top, but I'm keeping track of all my steps in the doc for now so I don't lose my spot.

Re: ALLSTAR to DMR Bridge
Both CentOS and Debian are Linux systems, just different distributions. DVSwitch is built, designed, and supported with Debian systems, sure, but installing the components from scratch (source) on CentOS isn't that much different than doing the same on a Debian system. You won't have the automated installer script like as you would with Debian. You will have to read the installer script and set up the programs manually using it as a guide. If nobody else here has a set of instructions for a CentOS install, give me a couple days (Til Saturday?) to come up with some for you. Steve KC1AWV

ALLSTAR to DMR Bridge
My Allstar node's OS is in CentOS and I was told the DV switch is written in Debian and thus the libraries will not run and install on my system. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of DVswitch for CentOS?

Re: P25 and NXDN ids
What does the [Id Lookup] stanza in each ini file for the reflectors point to? Do you have a valid DMRIds.dat file in those locations? Steve KC1AWV
