Welcome to DVSwitch
Purpose
1) Allows “local” networking during an outage of the regional national/international network server.
2) Allows a local network operator to “blend” upstream feeds from different Networks (capital N on purpose). These Networks can’t get their act together and learn how to play nice with each other (everyone guilty as far as we are concerned). They may not like people doing this, but the solution is to grow up and work with each other, and not keep trying to force people to take sides.
3) Allows local segregation of localized traffic with more flexibility.
4) Allows experimentation with linking and how it’s done (part 97 specifies experimentation and advancement of the radio art are a core part of amateur radio).
Mission Statement/Position
WHEREAS the Networks continue to be largely islands and are not working together to create a unified network of Networks.
WHEREAS no firm reason has been given by any of the Networks why a *competent* local network operator cannot make this work effectively.
(US ONLY)
WHEREAS 47 CFR 97 (Amateur Radio Service) specifies that a core component of amateur radio is experimentation and advancement of the radio art [97.1(b)].
BE IT RESOLVED the core group of US amateur radio operators and experimenters organized around the DVSwitch project, and in the spirit of USA 47 CFR 97 and its intentions, support the *responsible* and *thoughtful* use of digital voice networking tools to create localized networks that will interconnect to the national/international Networks, and will support users of its tools in order to do this in the most effective and sustainable way possible.
Re: Hytera DMR Gateway
Well, thank you! Now if I can get the rest of it working. Lol

Re: YSF -> DMR ID/Callsign Display
It's in DVSwitch.ini - look in the YSF stanza for FallbackID. I believe this ID is used when a callsign cannot be found in the local database. You may also want to check your local callsign database to see if the callsign in question has an ID assigned to it. Steve KC1AWV

i think that happens when the station coming from the YSF side doesn't have a DMR ID

YSF -> DMR ID/Callsign Display
Nick Robinson
I have a new YSFReflector I set up, and have YSF2DMR running, connected to my IPSC2 server
Any DMR to YSF traffic the Radio ID/Callsign routes properly Any YSF to DMR traffic only appears with the ID # entered in the YSF2DMR.ini, so when theres YSF traffic it all appears on the DMR side under my personal ID nmumber. Not ideal. Is there any configuration where the source ID will come across to DMR instead of the gateway ID? I thought maybe it would with a 6 digit rptr ID but same result.

Let's start with the basics, what services/servers are you trying to run? Steve

Re: Hytera DMR Gateway
Completely unrelated, but I just watched one of your videos this morning while doing dishes and commented. You're putting out great content that's easy for a beginner to follow, I like that. Though I'm not a beginner, when I watch other people's videos I try to imagine my father following the video. I admire when someone can communicate as well as you do. I hope you keep up the work.

Hytera DMR Gateway
I know this isn't a DV Switch product, but figure it works much the same.
I deployed this to connect my Hytera repeaters into my HBlink3 instance. It has worked very well so far, but I have a small issue and have not been able to find any info on it. When I first deployed it, I set it up with just a hotspot ID and everything worked great from the test repeater at the house. The only issue was how TG's didn't disconnect after 15 mins. Typical hotspot behavior. I burned it in a couple of weeks at home and then took it to he repeater site. It is setup to pass our local TG to the cluster only and everything else goes out across BM, using TGRewrite rules, so it logs into my HBLink3 instance and BM 3102. I had a conversation with one of the BM administrators and he said let him know and he would set the ID up for a repeater. Thinking about that, I figured "Hey, my repeater ID that is already affiliated would work. The actual repeater is behind the Hytera DMR Gateway instance, so I will have IT log into BM as the old repeater ID." Once I changed this, it logged in and worked fine, but after awhile, it times out to BM and never comes back. I am pointing it to BM on port 62030 for MMDVM repeaters with passw0rd. I found this info on the BM site. I am using repeater ID 311342 which was already under "My Repeaters" Any Ideas what difference it made once I changed the ID#? I am posting my configs and logs below, maybe someone could peek at it and figure out what I may change. Again, it works fine when using a hotspot id like 311372204, but times out using 311342. Re: Just Moved server from Digital Ocean and now server won't run
Hi Mike I'm running Ubintu 18.04 on both Digital Ocean and Hostwinds VPS, Wanting to leave Dig O, I've moved all of the files from Dig O with rsync and setup the files the same on both instances. The config files are the same only moved to the new location. The firewall rules are identical on both vps sites. , everything seems to be identical, I've made the changes on the ysf registry to reflect the new ip address and even turned off the droplet on dig Ocean to not create a conflict between the 2 servers, but still not able to get ysf reflector to run on dvswitch from the new server, I've contacted support at hostwinds and they tell me it's nothing to do with the my iso.and firewall setup and traffic should be passed. Not sure what I'm missing here ? But I'm sure if must be something simple?? Since the instance on digital Ocean still works when I turn it back on??? Still comparing files , but it was almost a copy and paste to the new vps. I even downloaded a new fresh image of DWswitch and installed the working files to the new install and kept the original as a backup?? Neither will work! Still open for suggestions or another set of eyes to see what's been missed or changed. Thanks Rick n9umj

Not sure if there is anything specific to Ubuntu but Just a
thought... Your packaging might be missing something needed.
Someone else may be able to chime in on that. What does it say when you type ' uname -r ' from cmd line ? Not familiar with Dig Oc but Did you use one of their stock images ? or - Can/did you load your own iso ?

How much are you looking for the mmdvm hat for the pi zero?

Some digital gear FS
Bob N1XBM <N1XBM@...>
I have a pi zero with the mmdvm hat I used pi star with. I also have a arduino with the mmdvm and the TXCO. Everything works I'm just not doing anything with it and would like to send the stuff down the road and put the money into current ham projects. Is there any interest? I can get more specifics if people want this stuff. I haven't even considered price yet, but I'd sell for what ever fair market value is.

Re: Just Moved server from Digital Ocean and now server won't run
Hi Steve Mainly the YSF Reflector, Everything else is pointed to Brandmeister for transcoding to our 31188 talkgroup. It was originally setup for me by Alec N1AJW , But Alec has other irons in the fire now an commited to those prjects. I need to get it running off of Digital Ocean so Brandmeister will accept my feed. My utimate goal wthis fall when my work load slows down is to place it on our own server at a fiber hub and do all of our transcoding and routing through DV_Switch, as for now I have very limited time with work and travel, I just need to make it usable again at the new VPS until time allows, I'm also very interested in the DV mobile but that wil also be later when time allows. I enjoyed talking to you at Hamvention,I found it very enlightening and exciting with all of the new features and looking forward to dedicating my time to learn more later this year Rick n9umj
