Re: How many instances of MMDVM_Bridge, Analog_Bridge and md380-emu can work on the same machine at the same time?

"Not working" does not tell us much. Seeing the logs of the startup of each AB, MB would help.
netstat -unap would show you what ports are being listened to.
Seeing the config files would help.
seeing logs when traffic does not pass from AB to MB would help.

I would look at md380-emu IF there really is a issue. There is a limit you have to be aware of, you only have 65000+ UDP ports available.

This happens only in the configuration of the 4 instance.
Of course the ports are not repeated in the different instances.
I appreciate your help.

It's a difficult question to ask, you'd really have to test it yourself. Logically though, a Raspberry Pi won't be able to handle as many streams as a standard desktop PC, and a standard desktop PC won't be able to handle as many streams as a high performance server.

Okay, clear, but nothing prevents someone from responding to the topic in the hbmonitor if it can help, which is very helpful in monitoring the server's hblink work.
Many people use hbmonitor it and work even at the stage where it was made and it is worth using.

Try this script it will install HBlink and HBmonitor and both working(for me on several different machines incliding Raspberry Pi3 B+ and Raspberry Pi4 B)

Re: HBMonitor help #hblink

HBmonitor is unsupported. Please read the README and pay special attention to the first line where it says:

COMPLETELY UNSUPPORTED SOFTWARE - DO NOT ASK FOR SUPPORT OR FEATURES

People seem to be ignoring this, and still expect or request support. Cort N0MJS has warned us in the past about ignoring his messages, please do not request support here.

Perhaps Cort must add a WIRES-X PEER or YSFPEER on his software.
You must try to install YSFReflector and YSF2DMR on you system and then make a link to your BM/DMR+ TG into hblink.cfg

Hello Dear Cort N0MJS and all.
I have installed HBlink ed HBmonitor on my Raspberry Pi3 B+ and all is working well.
Now i am testing the HBlink3 that uses Python3 , but HBmonitor is not compatible . I have try to install also the python2 packages for compatibility,
but it don't works. Always the some errors on about compatibility .
There is a solution or i must expect a new release of HBmonitor (HBmonitor3) ???
I want use HBlink3 because it has a perfect configuration for XLX , but the monitoring software is a must have for all users of my system.
Can we help me ???
Thanks in advance .

Re: new inquiry about the hb link program

Doug - W4DBG

Kenneth,

Look at HB Link as a "Virtual Repeater" meaning you have one access point with two slots.

So one group could be on time slot 1 on talk group 100 and another group could be on slot 2 on talk group 200 and both work through the system at the same time.

Keep in mind, each user (especially on Slot1) needs a device like their hotspot or repeater to be capable of using both slots for this scenario to work.

So, in theory, your idea will work with HBLink... You have to make sure everyone has the proper equipment.

Another option is setting up more than one Master and then you can do other things but I think for what you are trying to do the above scenario would work.

I hope that makes sense.

In the end, I am looking for a software package that hotspots can connect to and have more than one talkgroup being used at the same time. If hb link is used I would use it as a stand alone server and I would not be linking to other networks. It would be just a private place for myself and other friends to do testing and play dmr. Thank you for any help I can get. Pardin the bad spelling I am on a schedule and I am typing in a hurry. Kenneth kk4ql.

Re: XLX <--> TGIF

Asked and answered...

So I had a hunch after looking at some log messages...DMRGateway would not rewrite TG 6 as needed when TGIF was defined as DMR Network 3.  When I renamed it to DMR Network 1, rewriting worked just fine.

Working...

So the XLX <--> BM works for XLX <--> TGIF also, but make sure that TGIF is DMR Network 1.  You can delete the unneeded network stanzas so avoid naming conflict.

XLX <--> TGIF

Dan K2IE

I'm seeking to bridge an XLX module to a TGIF TG.  I tried to model on the formula published for XLX <--> DMRGateway <--> MMDVM_Bridge <--> MMDVM_Bridge <--> DMRGateway <--> BM but things break down at the TGIF DMRGateway module.  I turned on a rules trace and it seems that any attempt I make to rewrite TG 6 to my TGIF TG fail because the rule is not matched.

Is anyone doing this and, if so, can you provide the DMR Network stanza used for the TGIF side of things?  Particularly the rewrites if you have it working...

Dan
