Re: new inquiry about the hb link program

Kenneth,

Look at HB Link as a "Virtual Repeater" meaning you have one access point with two slots.

So one group could be on time slot 1 on talk group 100 and another group could be on slot 2 on talk group 200 and both work through the system at the same time.

Keep in mind, each user (especially on Slot1) needs a device like their hotspot or repeater to be capable of using both slots for this scenario to work.

So, in theory, your idea will work with HBLink... You have to make sure everyone has the proper equipment.

Another option is setting up more than one Master and then you can do other things but I think for what you are trying to do the above scenario would work.

I hope that makes sense.

In the end, I am looking for a software package that hotspots can connect to and have more than one talkgroup being used at the same time. If hb link is used I would use it as a stand alone server and I would not be linking to other networks. It would be just a private place for myself and other friends to do testing and play dmr. Thank you for any help I can get. Pardin the bad spelling I am on a schedule and I am typing in a hurry. Kenneth kk4ql.

Re: XLX <--> TGIF

Asked and answered...

So I had a hunch after looking at some log messages...DMRGateway would not rewrite TG 6 as needed when TGIF was defined as DMR Network 3.  When I renamed it to DMR Network 1, rewriting worked just fine.

Working...

So the XLX <--> BM works for XLX <--> TGIF also, but make sure that TGIF is DMR Network 1.  You can delete the unneeded network stanzas so avoid naming conflict.

XLX <--> TGIF

Dan K2IE

I'm seeking to bridge an XLX module to a TGIF TG.  I tried to model on the formula published for XLX <--> DMRGateway <--> MMDVM_Bridge <--> MMDVM_Bridge <--> DMRGateway <--> BM but things break down at the TGIF DMRGateway module.  I turned on a rules trace and it seems that any attempt I make to rewrite TG 6 to my TGIF TG fail because the rule is not matched.

Is anyone doing this and, if so, can you provide the DMR Network stanza used for the TGIF side of things?  Particularly the rewrites if you have it working...

That's a good question, and one that I will have to test tonight.

DMRGateway still exists. It's a separate project outside DVSwitch.

I need to make a new document, now that MB has been updated and issues have been fixed. I'll work on it tonight.

I saw activity from MMDVM_Bridge show up on the console from the talk group, but it never made it to the reflector. I think I broke something there. Then I found this guide. However, DMRGateway doesn't seem to be in DVSwitch anymore, unless I'm missing something obvious, which is entirely possible. I found a post from November 2018 stating that DMRGateway no longer exists, yet the first draft of this doc was written in February 2019.
So, what exactly is the state of DMRGateway?

Re: BM to XLX via MMDVM_Bridge - Doc version 2.0

XLX TO MB TO MB TO BM
OR
XLX TO DMRGATEWAY TO MB TO MB TO BM

Must use latest binary for MB
Look back a few messages regarding connecting ysf reflectors . On how to connect  two MB together.
Use Dmr ports instead of ysf.

Contact a brandmeister server host admin directly. I don't think they even look at the support page requests anymore, I had one in for months and finally got it resolved when I contacted Corey N3FE. Somehow when I put my ticket on the US support website, they said it ended up on the UK ticket system.

Meanwhile, I have successfully gotten MMDVM_Bridge connected to Brandmeister, though I have yet to configure a static talk group on the Brandmeister dashboard for the "hotspot."
That should get DMR audio to DSTAR, but how does audio go the other way?

Thanks. That is a typical problem I have, over engineering things. I’ll try this.

If you're transcoding on XLX already, you can use MB as a client to connect to Brandmeister. You don't need to go from DStar to Analog to Analog to DMR, you're over engineering the effort.
