Welcome to DVSwitch
DVSwitch is a set of tools and programs related to provisioning and operating Amateur Radio digital voice networks.
Purpose
The purpose of DVSwitch is as follows:
1) Allows “local” networking during an outage of the regional national/international network server.
2) Allows a local network operator to “blend” upstream feeds from different Networks (capital N on purpose). These Networks can’t get their act together and learn how to play nice with each other (everyone guilty as far as we are concerned). They may not like people doing this, but the solution is to grow up and work with each other, and not keep trying to force people to take sides.
3) Allows local segregation of localized traffic with more flexibility.
4) Allows experimentation with linking and how it’s done (part 97 specifies experimentation and advancement of the radio art are a core part of amateur radio).

Mission Statement/Position
Our stated position is:
WHEREAS the Networks continue to be largely islands and are not working together to create a unified network of Networks.
WHEREAS no firm reason has been given by any of the Networks why a *competent* local network operator cannot make this work effectively.
(US ONLY)
WHEREAS 47 CFR 97 (Amateur Radio Service) specifies that a core component of amateur radio is experimentation and advancement of the radio art [97.1(b)].
BE IT RESOLVED the core group of US amateur radio operators and experimenters organized around the DVSwitch project, and in the spirit of USA 47 CFR 97 and its intentions, support the *responsible* and *thoughtful* use of digital voice networking tools to create localized networks that will interconnect to the national/international Networks, and will support users of its tools in order to do this in the most effective and sustainable way possible.

Re: GPIO Pin Available
The DVSwitch suite is software, it does not interact with an RPi's GPIO. So unless you have something unrelated to DVSwitch attached to your RPi, the answer is yes. Steve KC1AWV

It would be very interesting and operational. that the DVSWITCH mobile can make a private call.

Mike and I are talking about this, what is it you are trying to do. For anyone else, what would you want Private call to be able to do from DVSM? Steve N4IRS

I did this for one of my nodes and it works well. that way when traveling, I can push one button on my phone real quick and then use my radio through my hotspot to chat on ASL. Makes it a little easier and safer to keep my eyes on the road. Good Luck! --- Jeff Lehman, N8ACL E-mail: n8acl@... Re: Prívate call DVSwitch

A work around, though it's not a true Private call (meaning it won't alert a radio) is....any DMR ID can be used as a talkgroup. So I would use my DMR ID and set the DV Switch Bridge up to connect to that ID as a group call. That way I can use the Shortcuts app in iOS to trigger a connection on the ASL side to an ASL node and use that "Private" Talkgroup via a hotspot to go out on the ASL connection. Others can use that "Private" talkgroup if they know the number, but it gives you a small way to do this. Not sure if that helps but maybe a thought? --- Jeff Lehman, N8ACL E-mail: n8acl@... Hi, I have a question
Can I do private call with DVSwitch app? I see only I can to do only group call. Thank you.

Re: Use AMBE3000 USB for Dstar with analog_bridge and dvswitch mobile and drop audio
Yes it does, but the question still stands, if you have the DV3000
available why not use it since md-380 is good but DV3000 is better.
Unless you disagree about the quality.

You are right. But how the md380 emulator works very well for dmr nxdn and YSFN

Mike and I were talking about the fact that you said you use the DV3000 ONLY for D-Star. We are wondering, if you already have a DV3000 plugged in, why not use it for D-Star, DMR, YSFn and NXDN? It is the best vocoder to use for all of those modes. 73, Steve N4IRS

Re: Use AMBE3000 USB for Dstar with analog_bridge and dvswitch mobile and drop audio
I see the latency is highlighted.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
As root: cat /sys/bus/usb-serial/devices/ttyUSB0/latency_timer I expect it will return 16 Try this: echo 1 > /sys/bus/usb-serial/devices/ttyUSB0/latency_timer If that works, add: echo 1 > /sys/bus/usb-serial/devices/ttyUSB0/latency_timer to /etc/rc.local before the last line (exit 0) What hardware are you running on? It only happens when I receive audio in DVSWICTH mobile.
But if I transmit, the audio is perfect towards Dstar.
