Welcome to DVSwitch
DVSwitch is a set of tools and programs related to provisioning and operating Amateur Radio digital voice networks.
Purpose
The purpose of DVSwitch is as follows:
1) Allows “local” networking during an outage of the regional national/international network server.
2) Allows a local network operator to “blend” upstream feeds from different Networks (capital N on purpose). These Networks can’t get their act together and learn how to play nice with each other (everyone guilty as far as we are concerned). They may not like people doing this, but the solution is to grow up and work with each other, and not keep trying to force people to take sides.
3) Allows local segregation of localized traffic with more flexibility.
4) Allows experimentation with linking and how it’s done (part 97 specifies experimentation and advancement of the radio art are a core part of amateur radio).

Mission Statement/Position
Our stated position is:
WHEREAS the Networks continue to be largely islands and are not working together to create a unified network of Networks.
WHEREAS no firm reason has been given by any of the Networks why a *competent* local network operator cannot make this work effectively.
(US ONLY)
WHEREAS 47 CFR 97 (Amateur Radio Service) specifies that a core component of amateur radio is experimentation and advancement of the radio art [97.1(b)].
BE IT RESOLVED the core group of US amateur radio operators and experimenters organized around the DVSwitch project, and in the spirit of USA 47 CFR 97 and its intentions, support the *responsible* and *thoughtful* use of digital voice networking tools to create localized networks that will interconnect to the national/international Networks, and will support users of its tools in order to do this in the most effective and sustainable way possible.

Re: NXDN Install with DVSMobile
Oooops. Didn’t know I needed NXDNGateway. Do I get from GitHub? In which directory should it be installed?

Do you have NXDNGateway running?

Hi Steve, I have it as you say, but I don't know if Ambe 3000 is acting, how do I know if it's active?

Tom,

It depends on how you have the DV3000 connected. If directly connected and NOT using AMBEserver: [DV3000] ; address = 127.0.0.1 ; IP address of AMBEServer ; rxPort = 2460 ; Port of AMBEServer address = /dev/ttyUSB0 ; Device of DV3000U on this machine baud = 460800 ; Baud rate of the dongle (230400 or 460800) serial = true ; Use serial=true for direct connect or serial=false for AMBEServer If directly connected and using AMBEserver [DV3000] address = 127.0.0.1 ; IP address of AMBEServer rxPort = 2460 ; Port of AMBEServer ; address = /dev/ttyUSB0 ; Device of DV3000U on this machine ; baud = 460800 ; Baud rate of the dongle (230400 or 460800) serial = false ; Use serial=true for direct connect or serial=false for AMBEServer

Steve(s),
tnx for info. very helpful in understanding how bits fit together. Does this mean that for dstar.ini, I need to "uncomment" first 2 lines? [DV3000] ; address = 127.0.0.1 ; IP address of AMBEServer ; rxPort = 2460 ; Port of AMBEServer -- Tom VE3NY

Thank you for including the complete MB log on your first post. I hope others will follow your lead. What problem are you having. I don't see anything wrong in the log (at least with outbound) I have to assume the audio is getting passed to AB and on to DVSM. Steve

Re: Prívate call DVSwitch
As will typing 4000 into the Dial String and press the send button.

If you look at the Talk Group list for DMR you will see the first TG is Unlink and the 10th TG is Australia, New Zeland. (sorry for the spelling error) Long press 0 will send a "Unlink" (4000) Long press 1 will send "Local" (1) and so on. This is the same for each mode. In short, a long press of the numneric pad will send the first 10 entries in the Talkgroups list for each mode. Steve N4IRS

Re: GPIO Pin Available
The DVSwitch suite is software, it does not interact with an RPi's GPIO. So unless you have something unrelated to DVSwitch attached to your RPi, the answer is yes. Steve KC1AWV
