Welcome to DVSwitch
DVSwitch is a set of tools and programs related to provisioning and operating Amateur Radio digital voice networks.
Purpose
The purpose of DVSwitch is as follows:
1) Allows “local” networking during an outage of the regional national/international network server.
2) Allows a local network operator to “blend” upstream feeds from different Networks (capital N on purpose). These Networks can’t get their act together and learn how to play nice with each other (everyone guilty as far as we are concerned). They may not like people doing this, but the solution is to grow up and work with each other, and not keep trying to force people to take sides.
3) Allows local segregation of localized traffic with more flexibility.
4) Allows experimentation with linking and how it’s done (part 97 specifies experimentation and advancement of the radio art are a core part of amateur radio).

Mission Statement/Position
Our stated position is:
WHEREAS the Networks continue to be largely islands and are not working together to create a unified network of Networks.
WHEREAS no firm reason has been given by any of the Networks why a *competent* local network operator cannot make this work effectively.
(US ONLY)
WHEREAS 47 CFR 97 (Amateur Radio Service) specifies that a core component of amateur radio is experimentation and advancement of the radio art [97.1(b)].
BE IT RESOLVED the core group of US amateur radio operators and experimenters organized around the DVSwitch project, and in the spirit of USA 47 CFR 97 and its intentions, support the *responsible* and *thoughtful* use of digital voice networking tools to create localized networks that will interconnect to the national/international Networks, and will support users of its tools in order to do this in the most effective and sustainable way possible.

I was able to dig out my BBB and I burned the image. As you report, you can not ssh in as repeater with a password of allstarlink. I have no idea how I missed this. It turns out the issue is not the password, the problem is ssh. I can't test it right now but I believe you could login via the console (HDMI and USB keyboard) or via a serial connection. I do have a way to allow ssh login. Can you mount the SD card on a Linux machine as root? If so, navigate to the etc directory on the card. Add the following to sshd_config: AllowUsers repeater Save the file, unmount the SD card, insert the card in the BBB. Login as repeater with a password of allstarlink You will be required to change the password. If you can't do this I will when I get time modify the image and reupload it to dvswitch.org Sorry for the confusion, Steve N4IRS

Re: Multiple Dashboards
No, you can use the same web server for multiple dashboards. Just put each dashboard in a different directory.

Yes, that sounds plausible. I was transcoding the Monday evening GoldCoastNet.com and I'll have to remind them not to quick key. Odd it works fine other weeks. Thank you, Chris K7AZ Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Thanks, Steve. I’m likely to reimage the SD card. I had the unit powered up for a few weeks anticipating connecting to it and change the SSH port. It’s entirely possible “someone” beat me to it, ha. It’s been unplugged for about a month and I just got back to powering it up to work with it.

Re: ASL BeagleBone Black
Mike,
You are correct on what SHOULD be the login and password. I built that image over a year ago so I'm a bit fuzzy. My BBB is packed up for a move so I can't test it here. I know Mike also has a BBB so if he can find it maybe he can test. As soon as I have a desk
again (next week) I'll give it a try.
Sorry I can't be of more help right now.

I do have a couple of the early hamvoip bbb units operating (pre rpi) and wish to migrate them over to ASL. Yes, they are “root”.
I realize that little, if any, development is taking place on the ASL version. And absolutely *zero* development has taken place on the hv version in years.

The bbb version I’m inquiring about is *not* the hv bbb. This is the one the other Steve, N4IRS, put on the ASL_Images on the dvswitch site.

version in years. Which ASL version do you mean? And as far as I can see, then last update to HamVOIP was on August 22, 2019 for the RPi 4. HamVOIP has a release called Final Version (1.2.2) located here: https://www2.hamvoip.org/BBB/BBB_Allstar_V1.2.2.img.zip Hope this helps.

Re: ASL BeagleBone Black
A quick Google search for Beaglebone Black AllStarLink provided a document with this information: The login username is root and the PW is root I also assume this is the hamvoip distribution? If so, you may get better help from the hamvoip folks.

Has anyone heard of a voice saying "blocked" related to transcoding DMR to ASL? Typically its heard on the ASL side and 1-2 seconds after ASL source unkeys. Thank you in advance for any help debugging this issue. Chris K7AZ Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

If you're talking the Xelatec (xipar) IAXRPT dispatch console, I don't think so. It's closed source as well, so a separate Windows client would be needed to build in the USRP functions I believe.
