Welcome to DVSwitch
DVSwitch is a set of tools and programs related to provisioning and operating Amateur Radio digital voice networks.
Purpose
The purpose of DVSwitch is as follows:
1) Allows “local” networking during an outage of the regional national/international network server.
2) Allows a local network operator to “blend” upstream feeds from different Networks (capital N on purpose). These Networks can’t get their act together and learn how to play nice with each other (everyone guilty as far as we are concerned). They may not like people doing this, but the solution is to grow up and work with each other, and not keep trying to force people to take sides.
3) Allows local segregation of localized traffic with more flexibility.
4) Allows experimentation with linking and how it’s done (part 97 specifies experimentation and advancement of the radio art are a core part of amateur radio).

sorry for seeming rough. I'm just getting frustrated with it. Steven installed the dvswitch on my all-star node but never told me how to start the services and get it all up and running on the arm os. All he did is manage to get my P25 reflector running on my Debian machine. I believe he even had me install the ambe server and IrcDDB on the Debian machine as well. I'm just getting a headache after 2.5 years of fighting with it,

There is no big secret. Nobody is hiding anything. Why do you think
this forum exists? If you learn to setup DMR the flow will become
clearer. Have you tried to follow the howto on a x86 system? I also
suggest you look at <https://dvswitch.groups.io/g/Mobile/files/DVSM_02_17_2020.pdf>
DVSwith Mobile uses all the same programs.

I understand, but as ARM os (AllstarLink Node) is difficult to install software on. I am running my D-Star & P25 Reflectors on my Debian machine. Currently, I don't use DMR and don't care for it personally. That's why I have been trying to set up this way. But the how to's are very vague on their explanation for install & starting & setup, as being some big secret for a select few. My friend Steven K4SQI was helping me before he passed away all of a sudden.

I would suggest you follow the howto on one machine to learn before
you attempt multi-hosts. Setup DMR as the howto shows before
attempting other modes.

Trying to do a new install & setup between my Allstarlink, D-star, P25 to start with then possibly a bridge to Fusion & BM TG once I get the others working good. As I stated previously, I have the Allstarlink node on a pi with Arm os and the others are on a Debian system. I prefer to set up the Dvswitch software on the Debian for the ease of install compared to the ARM OS.

Are you linking this to a BM TG? you can use MMDVM_Bridge to link this to the BM with your id+2 and then map it to the TG in selfcare. do the same for ASL link on your raspberry pi.

That is correct. You will need IPSC-Bridge and HB-Bridge. The IPSC-Bridge will need to connect to your "System" on the DMRlink server. And the HB-Link will need to connect to a "system" on your HB-Link server. You will one get 2 time slots of communication. It will be first come first serve for the TG. So you may get a bottle neck if you run a bunch of TG to multiple repeaters. The data flow will look kinda like this. HBlink -> (single port number) -> HB-Bridge -> (2 diffrent port numbers) -> IPSC-Bridge -> (single port number) -> DMRlink. In the hbink.cfg and the DMRlink.cfg files you need to set up the Master or the peer to connect to the respective server (HBlink/DMRlink). Then check and edit the HB-Bringe.cfg IPSC-Bridge.cfg file and make shore the 2 ports are 2 diffrent numbers and reversed from echother. HB-Bridge. IPSC-Bridge To 4321. To 1234 From 1234. From 4321 Start them both you should be good to go. HB-Bridge.py, IPSC-Bridge.py Kk4zmg Richard.

Hi, I figured I'd give this a try, seeing as you have been forsaken by others.
My suggestion here is to take the question you have over to AskUbuntu and search there, where questions of package dependencies and how to override them can be properly addressed. As you may have discovered, there is more than a little bit of pulling yourself up by your bootstraps needed here, and self-education on how to dislodge a stump from your wagon wheel is required in order to make this software work. It tends not to do exactly what you want without researching and thinking deeply about the technologies you are attempting to bridge. And it bears repeating: everyone here is a volunteer, donating their time (especially Steve N4IRS) and patience is still a virtue in these stressful times. My suggestion is that you don't worry about those values unless it has some significant impact regarding your configuration (and it doesn't). Modify the DStar specific values and leave the others alone. I can appreciate that perhaps you want to understand better how things function and why certain values exist. This said, berating people that are here to help you and who are doing so in their own free/spare time is probably not the best approach. If you don't have the time or patience to wait for a reply, and if you can't do so without being condescending to those trying to help you then by all means feel free to break out a debugger and step through the associated binaries/processes. Ghidra is free and will provide pseudo-code even for you... or try GDB or DDD and the list goes on. Then you won't need to ask anyone, you'll have figured it out all on your lonesome.

DVSwitch configuration parameters
there are seeming incongruous DMR-type settings in the DSTAR stanza in DVSwitch.ini.
does that mean the incoming DSTAR traffic (audio packet, etc.) is given the specified Talkgroup tag or label before leaving the outgoing DMR port (sort of like a TG channel director)? answer yes or no, please. does that also mean the outgoing DSTAR traffic uses the Talkgroup tag or label to select from incoming DMR traffic only the traffic belonging to the specified Talkgroup (sort of like a TG channel selector)? yes or no? - 30 -
