Welcome to DVSwitch
DVSwitch is a set of tools and programs related to provisioning and operating Amateur Radio digital voice networks.
Purpose
The purpose of DVSwitch is as follows:
1) Allows “local” networking during an outage of the regional national/international network server.
2) Allows a local network operator to “blend” upstream feeds from different Networks (capital N on purpose). These Networks can’t get their act together and learn how to play nice with each other (everyone guilty as far as we are concerned). They may not like people doing this, but the solution is to grow up and work with each other, and not keep trying to force people to take sides.
3) Allows local segregation of localized traffic with more flexibility.
4) Allows experimentation with linking and how it’s done (part 97 specifies experimentation and advancement of the radio art are a core part of amateur radio).

Mission Statement/Position
Our stated position is:
WHEREAS the Networks continue to be largely islands and are not working together to create a unified network of Networks.
WHEREAS no firm reason has been given by any of the Networks why a *competent* local network operator cannot make this work effectively.
(US ONLY)
WHEREAS 47 CFR 97 (Amateur Radio Service) specifies that a core component of amateur radio is experimentation and advancement of the radio art [97.1(b)].
BE IT RESOLVED the core group of US amateur radio operators and experimenters organized around the DVSwitch project, and in the spirit of USA 47 CFR 97 and its intentions, support the *responsible* and *thoughtful* use of digital voice networking tools to create localized networks that will interconnect to the national/international Networks, and will support users of its tools in order to do this in the most effective and sustainable way possible.

I think function getABInfoFileName is the key.
Cheers.

I don't know about anyone else, but it's a little hard to
troubleshoot without seeing the logs.

It would have been nice to know what was wrong. Based on what you
posted the config was correct. It would have been nice to see
traffic from both ends.

Thanks everyone,
I have solved it now. The DVSwitch System Builder was the problem as it didn´t work. I have started from scratch again and only installed the Repo and DVSwitch Now Bridging to BM and back to YSF works fine, the sound is clear and noisefree. The Callsigns are also visble on both ends Uli DJ5UW

YSF to DMR, specifying talkgroup
Patrick Perdue
Hi:
Perhaps I'm missing something really obvious here, but when using MMDVM_Bridge to go between a YSF reflector and a DMR master server, how do you specify which DMR talkgroup to use? The only reference I can find in DVSwitch.ini seems to be in the DSTAR section. Thanks and 73 de KE4DYI

I have a similar setup like you except mine nodes are in the cloud on two different VPS providers. I made those changes and I see traffic on TG hoseline at BM . I also see traffic in my YSF reflector the problem is that No YSF Audio is heard on either end. DVswitch Mobile on LTE and a hotspot at home. DMR mode on the hotspot is sweet except that YSFaudio cant be heard. YN1OB W3DAW

Re: Can you have several instances of Dvswicth running in different folders with the dvswitch.sh?
Hi Joaquin. Yes, I think that you have to change the script on the dvswitch.sh. Attached I show you where. I think that you have to point the new folders there. By the way, thank you for your help with my HBlink. Thank you very much.

Have you confirmed via self care in Brandmeister that you are connected and on correct talk group? Just an idea Doug W4DBG

Thanks for posting the log. Nothing jumps out at me. Can you show me
the log with traffic from both the DMR and YSF networks?

Need another set of eyes
#mmdvm_bridge
I had a perfectly working bridge between YSF and BM TG. Suddenly it just quit working. Since it is built on Raspberry I figured after a brief investigation that the SD card is about to die. I got new cards and reinstall the whole system. I am running YSF Reflector and Bridge from one Pi.
I can see the bridge connecting to the reflector and to BM networks but it is not bridging the networks! I can see on dashboard traffic coming from YSF but not from DMR....everything looks good to my eyes.. HELP :-)
Here is a fresh log from the Bridge.

Can you have several instances of Dvswicth running in different folders with the dvswitch.sh?
EA5GVK Joaquin
I want to have several DVSwitch users running on the same raspberry pi.
I have different folders for the main user, with their mmdvm_bridge, analog_bridge and md380-emu. And in a different folder I have a secondary user, with the same folders mmdvm_bridge, analog_bridge and md380-emu. Of course I have changed ports in DVSwitch.ini from the MMDVM_Bridge folder. But do you have to change anything in the dvswitch.sh script of the second user? Many thx.

Yes double check ysf gateway port. Everything has to match and it will work !

Do not worry about the Dashboard. You want to look at the MMDVM_Bridge log file. If you setup MMDVM_Bridge.ini and DVSwitch.ini as the wiki states, all you should have to do is point MMDVM_Bridge at the 2 systems you want to bridge see below: [DMR Network] Enable=1 Address=hblink.dvswitch.org <---------- Point this at the DMR network Port=62031 Jitter=360 Local=62032 Password=passw0rd Slot1=0 Slot2=1 Debug=0 [System Fusion Network] Enable=1 LocalAddress=0 LocalPort=3200 GatewayAddress=ysfreflector.dvswitch.org <-------- point this at the YSF reflector GatewayPort=42166 <-------- Set this to the proper port for the reflector Debug=0 Steve, N4IRS

Setup of a Bridge YSF to DMR - Anyone out there who can solve this mystery ?

Uli
I simply want to link my YSF Reflector to a Talkgroup on Brandmeister.
Meanwhile I have tried 4 full installation attempts to do a Bridge between YSF and DMR but no luck. I have 2 RPI 3B+, both running raspbian stretch lite. One has a YSF Reflector installed according to QSO365´s (very good and working ) explanation. This Reflector and its Dashboard installed on the first attempt and runs fine without problems The other RPI 3B+ also has raspbian stretch lite installed, PHP7.0 and on top of it DVSwitch-System-Builder. Both RPi´s are running in the same Network 192.168.10.xxx behind a firewall. I was able to get the MMDVM_Bridge Dashboard running but it does not show any links or connection attempts from HT´s and the status is always idle. How do I get the MMDVM Bridge to link my reflector to the Brandmeister TG i have entered in DVSwitch.ini? Is there a complete detailed description which values in MMDVM_Bridge.ini and DVSwitch.ini and possibly in any other hidden config files or somewhere else need to be changed/adapted and how? I have done the suggested changes of values in the config files like from this https://dvswitch.groups.io/g/main/wiki/Bridge-DMR-to-YSF-Narrow but there are a lot of unanswered questions e.g. what do I put in "DMR adress" (I assume its the Brandmeister Master??) or in YSF Gateway Address (is it the URL of the other Pi that runs the Reflector?) What other ports do I need to open up on the firewall ? How should the config files look like for my setup? I have tried everything I could think of but no luck, the Bridge does not work as it should Do I need anything else (Software or Hardware than the two Raspberrys to do this? Did I miss anything? I´m completely stuck at this point. any help would greatly be appreciated Uli DJ5UW
