Welcome to DVSwitch
Purpose
1) Allows “local” networking during an outage of the regional national/international network server.
2) Allows a local network operator to “blend” upstream feeds from different Networks (capital N on purpose). These Networks can’t get their act together and learn how to play nice with each other (everyone guilty as far as we are concerned). They may not like people doing this, but the solution is to grow up and work with each other, and not keep trying to force people to take sides.
3) Allows local segregation of localized traffic with more flexibility.
4) Allows experimentation with linking and how it’s done (part 97 specifies experimentation and advancement of the radio art are a core part of amateur radio).
Mission Statement/Position
WHEREAS the Networks continue to be largely islands and are not working together to create a unified network of Networks.
WHEREAS no firm reason has been given by any of the Networks why a *competent* local network operator cannot make this work effectively.
(US ONLY)
WHEREAS 47 CFR 97 (Amateur Radio Service) specifies that a core component of amateur radio is experimentation and advancement of the radio art [97.1(b)].
BE IT RESOLVED the core group of US amateur radio operators and experimenters organized around the DVSwitch project, and in the spirit of USA 47 CFR 97 and its intentions, support the *responsible* and *thoughtful* use of digital voice networking tools to create localized networks that will interconnect to the national/international Networks, and will support users of its tools in order to do this in the most effective and sustainable way possible.

Hello I realize it may be off topic for this group but... How are you getting ircddbgateway to compile with no X/GUI environment?

Awesome, thanks all!

Re: Analog Bridge Binds to the same port
I have addressed the issue. We will need to test in-house for a while to make sure it is solid (more changes than a simple listener). Steve will release when it is solid

Re: Where is the DVSM_Update.sh scripts?
I have not decided it I'm going to use that systemd unit file or
not.

DVSWITCH in Pi Zero
ea7jcl@...
If I try to run dvswitch on a pi zero, mmdvm_bridge and analog_bridge, they work apparently fine, but the md380-emu boots, but upon starting the conversion it returns an error.
root@raspberrypi:/opt/md380-emu# ./md380-emu -v -S 2470
Listening on port 2470, entering while loop
data ready
got 7 bytes
Illegal instruction
Could it be because of the pi zero processor? any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Analog Bridge Binds to the same port
If you are running the ambeserver on the same device.
address = 127.0.0.1 ; IP address of AMBEServer
rxPort = 2460 ; Port of AMBEServer
address = /dev/ttyUSB0 ; Device of DV3000U on this machine
baud = 460800 ; Baud rate of the dongle (230400 or 460800)
serial = false ; Use serial=true for direct connect or serial=false for AMBEServer I found that I needed the bottom three lines as well.

Cheers Steve. In the short term I've shifted AMBEServer to another Pi. In the medium term I might experiment with running it in Docker, but I'm not an expert on that front.

Re: Analog Bridge Binds to the same port
You are correct. The change that was made recently had to do with
the emulator. Mike is looking at making the same type of change for
AMBE_Server. I'll keep you informed.

Hi Steve, I pulled the latest and had the same issue. If I start AMBEServer and it binds to 2460, then start Analog_Bridge, AB tries to bind to the same port and can't. Thanks

Re: Analog Bridge Binds to the same port
Yes, grab the latest from github and re-test

I'm using the latest version from the repo. Should I be pulling from Github? Thanks

Are you running the most current version from github? What architecture are you running on? 73, Steve N4IRS

Analog Bridge Binds to the same port
Matthew 2E0SIP
Hi All, I am attempting to use a modified version of AMBESever in order to use a DVMega AMBE 3000 board that's not supported by Analog_Bridge (Github Issue). [DV3000] address = 127.0.0.1 ; IP address of AMBEServer rxPort = 2461 ; Port of AMBEServer In a future version of Analog Bridge would it be possible to define a local port, or bind to a random port? I appreciate this is an unusual use case. Thanks!

Re: ASL_node_list.txt
Followed your directions and the nodes_list.txt file uploads to the android device. However, when I initiate the IAX2 ASL profile, select Macro on the Dialer page, select Nodes, select an Allstar node, the command that is issued is a *2 command (i.e. monitor only). How do I change this so it is a *3 command initiating connection?

Re: MMDVM_Bridge doesn't appear to be connecting to ircddbgateway
Matthew 2E0SIP
Ah, that solved it. I think at some point subscriber_ids.csv was in the wrong format. I've updated it, restarted everything, and now its working, hopefully.

Re: MMDVM_Bridge doesn't appear to be connecting to ircddbgateway

Hi Steve, I'll see if I can schedule something with another Amateur on a DCS reflector. I noticed in a packet capture I'm sending a DMR ID in place of a Call Sign in the packet to XLX: On the DMR side of Analog_Bridge I see this: I: 2020-05-31 19:43:37.056 Begin TX: src=2343265 rpt=0 dst=2348479 slot=2 cc=0 call=2343265 I wonder if this is causing the issue. Do you know why this would happen? subscriber_ids.csv is up to date and includes my DMR ID, so I'd expect to see my callsign
