Why not just post the info here?

Well, I figured this out with the help of the developers.

It's reasonably simple for anyone who has a reasonable knowledge of Linux.
If anyone wants to know how, just message me via this or FB.

I would stay far far away from the dv4mini stuff but that is just my personal opinion!

Firstly like to point out that I am a noob when it comes to DVSwitch so please be kind.

I am currently using DVswitch on a Rpi as the server and a tablet PC.

I am getting OK audio reports on DMR, it's not perfect but OK. I am using the emulated Codec

I have been offered a DV 4 Mini usb widget, would that improve the audio?

Appreciate any replies.

I actually used them just to perform backups of other servers and they have worked out just fine.

Thanks, Steve. This maybe cheaper than VULTR. Thanks.

Re: Cloud hosting

Good to hear it's working. I would suggest anyone reading this thread keep the following in mind:

1: The VM is directly exposed to the internet with the ability to login as root. I strongly suggest a strong password. or a PSK.
Want to see something interesting? watch /var/log/auth.log
I like Shorewall to make the firewall easy to manage. Fail2ban helps too.
2: Watch your bandwidth. You get 500GB a month.

Add XLX reflectors to Dstar

Derek William Haden <facebook@...>

Firstly thanks for letting me into the group.

I have just set up a Rpi with DVlink and a tablet PC and a phone with DVSwitch, and so far so good.
When I look at the DStar reflector listing, it has limited entries, is there a way of adding extra reflectors on the Rpi so that they are available to DVswitch.

Thanks in advance.

i think you have to install libgps-dev and then the compilation will be successful

apt-get install libgps-dev

Re: Cloud hosting

I did, but I solved it. As of now, the existing system builder script is going to be replaced. I really don't have the time to put out a new one. I am spending my time preparing for and working on a newer script that does not need to compile the gateways/parrots. Think apt-get install.

So far seems to work. I installed DVSwitch-Server on it. As Tom says, I wont run D-Star since it's a VM but for $10.00 a year it works (for now) As Corey will attest, we have been burned by cheap hosting before. Only time will tell is this holds up. I'll give it a little more time and spin up something a little busier.
