Yes, USRP_Audio.py will do what you want. If I understand, you want to send analog_audio from your USB sound device to a DMR TG. it would look like this: USB-audio <-> USRP_Audio <-> Analog_Bridge <-> MMDVM_Bridge <-> hb_confbridge. The concern I have is PTT. You will have to modify USRP_Audio to send audio full time since there is no VOX. 73, Steve N4IRS

USB-Audio to DMR
For a proof-of-concept I will be realize the following:
I have an analog Input which comes from a simple USB-soundcard. This audio-stream I will be convert to DMR (HBlink/conf_bridge) as target. I read a lot here in the mailing list, but I'm not sure at the moment if I can do this. [USB-Audio]<->???<->analog_bridge<->dvswitch<->mmdvm_bridge<->hblink. I will do it with the md380emu. I found in the files-section here USRPAudio.py . Can I use this ? I would be happy to get some help for my project here. Can I do this without ASL ? In the first step, I just want to monitor an analog audio source to DMR-TG, which will be switched on and off with hblink itself. Thanks for help, 73 Heiko, DL1BZ

oops misread the question. you want a separete ASL <> YSF system correct? not linked to DMR?

Well as I have often said garbage in garbage out. I finally figured out what I had done wrong. It seems that if you get your gatewayDmrId and your repeaterID reversed things won't work as planned.

Re: using ACLs
Just want to point out that you could use the newest code as a confbridge "hub", and connect the IPSC/HB bridge to that hub, and the clients can connect to that hub, then you have your ACL access. Clients then aren't directly connected to your bridge set. The extra layer doesn't adversely affect the communications latency as far as I can tell.

whole lot of sense.

Using the HB_Bridge branch the cfg file for hblink does not make mention of ACL support. However, in the main branch the cfg file for hblink DOES indicate ACL support. Since we are running the HB_Bridge branch I assume that we can't use ACLs? If we can, how so, as mixing and matching branches will lead to a disaster. One need not ask I how I know.. ;) Thank you, 73 Jon K1IMD

OK here is what I am seeing now. When I stop all services and run them all in the foreground everything appears to be functioning. I see activity from both sides on CLI, Analog_Bridge, and MMDVM_Bridge. When I talk on the DMR radio I can hear myself on the repeater. When I key my analog radio, although it looks like it is passing through, I see nothing on Brandmeister. I see Brandmeister activity when I talk on my DMR radio but not the analog radio.

However, would like to use acl's to control/limit access to the HB_Bridge to not overload the manger/port. I don't see a place to implement this feature. 73, Jon K1IMD

#best_practices dmr To dstar
#best_practices
Pierre Martel
Hi all!
I have seen many ways of doing a bridge from dmr to dstar. Like the saying all roads lead to Rome. But I want to have some versatility in my design. Let say I connect a fake dmr repeater to BM and staticly connect slot 2 to a cluster and slot 1 to a tg all this from the sysop selfcare fash board. Then I would connect that fake repeater to an xlx reflector slot 1 would be module D and slot 2 would connect to module E and the transcoding would be done on the xlxd server. Wiuld that be a possible thing? I have the possibility to decode/encode with 6 dvdongle. Sounds good or I am missing something? And what would be the software sequence I would need to acheive this ? Thanks PIERRE Ve2pf
