Re: ASL <-> D-Star <-> xlxd

Steve N4IRS

It would be:
 ASL <-> Analog_Bridge <-> (DStar, using hardware USB chip) <-> MMDVM_Bridge <-> ircDDBGateway <-> xlxd

I don't know if ircDDBGateway and XLX can exist on the same machine. I assume it can.

Hello everyone. Is there much D-Star activity in the group? I've got a working xlxd reflector set up I use for a DStar group. Running on the same server, I have a working AllStar simplex radio node with Analog_Bridge and MMDVM_Bridge.

I'd like to bridge the ASL node into xlxd, in D-Star mode. So in theory, it goes like this: ASL <-> Analog_Bridge <-> (DStar, using hardware USB chip) <-> MMDVM_Bridge <-> xlxd

However I can only get MMDVM_Bridge to connect to xlxd if I use [DMR Network] in MMDVM_Bridge.ini. If I try using [D-Star Network], xlxd sees DPlus packets but it doesn't retransmit anything, and doesn't show the connection. Audio is messed up in DMR mode anyways, even though A_B says on start up it's using the hardware codec.

I could maybe insert ircDDBGateway between M_B and xlxd but it doesn't look like they can easily coexist on the same host.

Can MMDVM_Bridge connect to xlxd in DPlus or another DStar mode? I don't want to have to go analog->dmr->dstar, I'd rather just do analog->dstar. Wondering if anyone on here is doing this and how they went about it. Thank You

Steve N4IRS,

Could the "America" one be referencing South America and the "US" one is referencing North America?

Re: BransMeister Self care password for a DVSwitch

Levi - YO5VLZ

Hello,

launch dvs, got to Tools Menu->Configure ini files -> 2. Edit MMDVM_Bridge.ini
There go to [DMR Network] block and edit Password. Put the clear text apssword you enterered into BM Self-Care

...
[DMR Network]
Enable=1
Address=Some Master server IP address
Port=62031
Jitter=360
Local=62032
Password=Put here your password from Self Care in clear text, if you entered in Self Care MyPassword1234 then you enter exactly that here
....

After that Ctrl+X, agree with saving, in the ini edit menu choose Cacne so that you go back to parent menu and choose 36 Restart DVSwitch Services
There is another way but that will force you to enter all the already entered info and chance for a frustating mistake in higher

Re: Coming to a browser near you

As a Mac/iOS user (and professional developer) I have tested on iOS (12, 13 and 14) Safari and Mac OS Catalina (Safari and Chrome)
In addition, Windows Edge, Linux Chromium, Android Chrome and Silk.  Still to test is Firefox.  I will probably not test on Opera (as I don't care)

iOS as always is a challenge because Apple makes everything harder.  You will need TLS certs (a script is included).

I would not say this is a perfect replacement for a mobile app (it is specifically NOT responsive), but it does perform well on iOS and Mac OS.
