So,
I guess the question is, what happens after our 12 months is up.

FCS to DMR bridge Network watchdog has expired error message

David Young

Created a DVSwitch bridge between FCS room and DMR and am showing in the MMDVM log after each FCS fusion transmission Network Watchdog Timeout error message.  The bridge seems to work normally as audio transmissions between the FCS room and DMR talk group continue.  The problem this seems to cause is that I also have another DVSwitch bridge from an NXDN reflector to the same DMR talk group.  When I transmit from a fusion radio to the FCS room the bridge to DMR and then onto NXDN works, but because the NXDN bridge sees the network watchdog timeout for some reason it stops bridging back to DMR.  If I transmit to the DMR talk group with a DMR radio then this seems to clear the NXDN bridge from not bridging and it starts bridging again until it sees another network watchdog timeout from the FCS bridge.
I have tried changing ports in both the YSFGateway.ini file and also the MMDVM_Bridge.ini file, but I cannot stop these network watchdog timeout errors which are stopping my NXDN to DMR bridging.  I am thinking this network watchdog timeout error is being generated by DVSwitch but cannot figure out how to prevent it.
Any help would be appreciated.  Attached are my working *.ini files.

Can you give more details of your setup?  Muffled analog audio can have
many causes, from microphone to anything in the chain between the
microphone and Analog_Bridge.  Is there any RF involved?  Or is this a
DVSM setup?

In my experience, this issue occurs in the analog chain, before the
audio gets to Analog_Bridge.  I'm running a multimode link, which
includes analog, and audio is generally very good, except for specific
sources (e.g. Echolink PC users are notorious for muffled audio, because
many PC mics are very bassy).

pyUC on Apple OSX

Jay

I could use a hand from someone who has it working.  I get a number of errors but the most often is:

  File "pyUC.py", line 203

SyntaxError: Non-ASCII character '\xe2' in file pyUC.py on line 203, but no encoding declared; see http://python.org/dev/peps/pep-0263/ for details

Line 203 looks to be a comment to me.

Launcher also gives me the following:

cd '/Users/newuser/Downloads/USRP_Client-master/' && '/usr/local/bin/python3'  '/Users/newuser/Downloads/USRP_Client-master/pyUC.py'  && echo Exit status: $? && exit 1

newuser@OSX_Catalina ~ % cd '/Users/newuser/Downloads/USRP_Client-master/' && '/usr/local/bin/python3'  '/Users/newuser/Downloads/USRP_Client-master/pyUC.py'  && echo Exit status: $? && exit 1

Traceback (most recent call last):

    from time import time, sleep, clock, localtime, strftime

ImportError: cannot import name 'clock' from 'time' (unknown location)

I followed the install instructions to the letter.  I must have missed something....

Thanks in advance for ny help.

Re: Stacato audio on DVSM

Since SystemBuilder did not include AMBEServer, it's not really part o the process. Not at least at this time.

I guess another snippet of information to add to the install process.

Again, many thanks for the help.

P25 receive audio distortion with P25 / DMR bridge

David Young

I am having an audio problem when using DVSwitch to bridge DMR to P25.  Audio from P25 to DMR sounds normal, but audio from DMR to P25 is very garbled and almost sounds like two digital transmissions are occurring at the same time.  I have installed the P25 / DMR bridge on 3 different Pi3b and Pi4's and have never had this problem.  This installation is being done on a cloud server and I have not been able to figure out why the audio is so garbled and distorted.  I am attaching the two analog bridge logs and all the associated *.ini files.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
