The commands that Steve gave you only help find the problem, and when you issued the command it shows that MMDVM_Bridge is indeed already running and listening on that port...  so now you need to kill that process or stop the service.

sudo systemctl stop mmdvm_bridge.service

if that doesn't work

sudo kill 563

(if you are logged in as root you can omit the sudo)

right. so i'm wide awake at 5:30am local time and easy to irritate. that's my failing of the moment.

how about a nice yes/no question, then ..  the seeming incongruous DMR-type settings in the DSTAR "Partner" stanza means the DSTAR traffic leaving the partner acquires the specified Tags or Labels?    yes or no.

Re: preparing to edit DVSwitch.ini

eh?

yes, i'm not an idiot, thank you. i see the word "export" three times. is that like shipping peanuts to Thailand?!
that's an "export".

testing ThumbDV and AMBEserver with AMBEtest4

kb3cs

the ThumbDV does not like 230400 baud, so the running the test looks like this:
$ python2 AMBEtest4.py -v -n -s /dev/ttyUSB0
the '-n' parameter changes the baud rate to 460800.

to test an AMBEserver (see OpenDV repo -- DummyRepeater/DV3000), first apply this patch:
$ git diff
diff --git a/scripts/AMBEtest4.py b/scripts/AMBEtest4.py
index abd16cb..792fff6 100755
--- a/scripts/AMBEtest4.py

+# _sock.bind(('', UDP_PORT))

AMBEtest4 can't be a client if it is acting like a server and trying to bind to the port. you get "address already in use" because the port has been bound already by AMBEserver.

Re: ircddbgateway install command line only

kb3cs

just built and installed https://github.com/g4klx/ircDDBGateway on a Ubuntu 19.10 box. it went smoothly.

beware the file debian/ircddbgatewayd.ircddbgatewayd.service as it has "ExecStart=/usr/sbin/ircddbgatewayd" and the daemon gets installed in /usr/bin.

there also is "User=opendv" which means the user account need to be created manually, since the install scripts do not create the user or edit the line if you want to run the daemon using an existing regular user account instead.

did i manage to miss something important or debtool needed another cmdline parameter or something?
after installing a package from the dvswitch repo, apt-file list <package-name> produces no output (that's unusual)
but at least there's dpkg -L <package-name>
$ apt-file list md380-emu
$ dpkg -L md380-emu

Re: MMDVM Duplicating #mmdvm_bridge

Analog_Bridge and MMDVM_Bridge usually starts on boot up.
If you want them to run in a terminal you need to stop them.
systemctl stop analog_bridge
system stop mmdvm_bridge

MMDVM Duplicating #mmdvm_bridge

Hi guys I have a single instance MMDVM_Bridge running, It connects a ysf network to DMR, lately i have been noticing that there is a echo or reverb at the end of transmissions, when i look at the ysf dashboard it shows 2 connected gateways with my call sign, its suppose to be one, i have tried stopping MMDVM_Bridge and disabling it but the other instance wont disconnect. Has anyone else had this issue and if so mind sharing how it was solved?

thanks

Re: Average DMR VS YSF audio level

Dmr radios are usually  louder than C4fm Radios. Turn mic gain down on Dmr and up on C4fm.

I have tried this and it works Dmr MB to AB to AB to MB Ysf. You can alter the audio on one AB.
