Re: Emulator timed out on encode!

Edited

I have 2 Rpi one I use for DStar with a USB dongle and the other on DMR (mostly BM, but other networks too).

I took an image of the "DStar" Rpi SD card, wrote it to a card, and put that on the Rpi I am having problems with, modified the various files so that all the IDs etc were the same as the other Rpi. Amend AB.ini to use the emulator.

Yet I still get the same "Emulator timed out on encode!" error.

Interestingly I found another (unresolved) thread with the same error.

No,
hUC is for DVSwirch programs.

Is hUC a front end for EA5DVK’s DV-Link? I really want to use my iPhone to connect to digital modes.

That is used by the RX monitor. I would put it back to 8080.
To move the dashboard, edit:
/etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf and restart lighttpd.

That is an indication that you are pointed at the RX monitor. Where did you change the port for the dashboard?

locked Connecting to BrandMeister

BM is implementing controls to disallow mis-configured hotspots from connecting to their network. Some of our early configurations violate this and cause a connection to not complete. Here is what you need to check:
in /opt/MMDVM_Bridge/MMDVM_Bridge.ini

[General]
Callsign=N4IRS
Id=3112138
duplex=0

[Info]
RXFrequency=224940000
TXFrequency=224940000

Make sure your RX Frequency matches your TX frequency and that your callsign is correct for your DMRID+SSID

restart.

We have a replacement connection method in beta test now. That method, Simple Terminal Feature Update uses the connection method required by BM. By implementing Simple Terminal Feature Update we will satisfy BM now and in the future.

DMR Master Not Connected

My DV switch has been working fine for the past 3 months.  Today, my DVSwitch dashboard shows DMR Master not connected.

When I log into my brandmeister account the hotspot does not show connected.

Yes it's possible (I'm doing it as a subset of a much bigger system).
Easiest path is to use an AllStar node with Echolink capability
configured linked to Analog_Bridge and MMDVM_Bridge, talking to your YSF
Reflector.

It is possible to use SvxLink with svxbridge, instead of AllStar, but
this is a significantly more difficult path, I'd go with ASL..

Yes, I have a principle of doing as little as possible with the audio,
and that principle goes back to the early days of EchoIRLP (way back in
2002-2003), where I theorised that it should be possible to pass traffic
from Echolink to IRLP without decompressing the audio, which others were
able to implement in code.  This became a feature of EchoIRLP and the
shared IRLP/Echolink conferences in use today.

I was unaware of the Codec2 server. This should make things a whole
lot easier. M17Gateway exists as a 'beta', in the sense that it's not
completely tested.
Yep, why reinvent the wheel, when all you need to do is bolt an existing
wheel onto your new axle? :)

https://github.com/g4klx/M17Gateway

I think we have the parts, we just need a plan to put them together.
I have a feeling you're right.
