I guess I just need to keep posting and walking away....lol  As soon as I walk away each time, I figure out the issue in my head. I didn't realize TG part was like a hotspot that was controlled on the Brandmeister dashboard. Sorry, really new to the bridging so I'm trying to figure it out as fast as I can. I think I have this all working now except the callsigns coming from DMR to YSF are not coming through yet.

Re: YSFReflector <> DMR #dmrlink

Actually, I think I have this working and I"m hearing audio. but it's tied to TG310  need to get it to the right TG 311752

Re: YSFReflector <> DMR #dmrlink

nick@...

Thanks for the reply, that's actually the document I started with along with a few others and it helped a lot and got me almost there. I just wanted to confirm my thinking above on first is this all I need to make the Bridge and secondly where do I put the TG for BM (311752) Under Local?

Also, Under [System Fusion Network]
The only thing I have changed so far is the "GatewayAddress" to the IP address of my YSFReflector and "GatewayPort" <- is that correct?

After doing some more research (about Python) it would seem that this is a known problem.
[SNIP]
Python3 has several different 'string' types.
You are trying to combine a bytes string (basically an immutable character array) to a unicode string.
[/SNIP]

I may have fixed the script by changing this one line:
cmd = "txTg=$1".encode("utf-8")

So far, it has not returned an error.
I can't test further until later tonight, but I am hoping this has fixed it.
I'll update later with any results.

A little more information ...
I am running "Asterisk 1.4.23-pre.hamvoip-V1.5.3-27-app_rpt-0.327-04/04/2018" which comes with Python 3.5.1

After reading more on this problem, it has been reported that the issue did not appear in Python 2.
I cannot confirm or deny the claim, but if anyone runs into this error - try the fix I've included above.

Interesting. I never saw the poll. But then most of the DVSwitch messages I see, I only glance over. I don’t use anything but “Mobile”.

Now that I have actually looked at the subgroups, it might be useful to have a “Bridging” subgroup. It does seem that there are a lot of “how do I bridge ‘xyz’ to ‘abc’” questions. But I seem to understand you are thinking of a DMR and P25 subgroup, etc.

Best regards,

Yes md380 is running @ 2470, emulator is turned on, retest, have no PTT or audio from MSF500-P25 or transfer to TG3119 @ Brandmeister.

The P25 Gateway terminal screen rolls with hex packets, same for MMDVM_Bridge with packets from Brandmeister.

We must be getting closer - I hope

Is there any other requirement for the MMDVM Client to communicate with your DVSwitch system and back again?

Thank you very much for any assistance.

Observations:
Back off agcGain -> 60 That is way too hot. Bring it down to 5
Do you have the emulator installed?
ls /opt/md380-emu
Is it running?
ps ax | grep md380
Is it listening on the default port (2470)?
netstat -unap | grep md380

If all above are true, on your Analog_Bridge for DMR, turn on the emulator and retest.
Analog_Bridge generates a single log file Analog_Bridge.log by default it goes to /var/log.
The environment variable AnalogBridgeLogDir defines the location of the log file if you want it somewhere else.
The systemd unit file /lib/systemd/system/analog_bridge.system set this variable with:
Environment=AnalogBridgeLogDir=/var/log/dvswitch/Analog_Bridge

If you are starting your 2 instances of Analog_Bridge with system units, you want to point these two environment variable to different directories.

Run each instance from the command line and capture the output.

Trouble getting the logs … the /var/log/ folder contains both Bridge_DMR and Bridge_P25 logs, one file each, not the usual log files created by days.

For some reason the logs are not being created or otherwise certainly not in the /var/log folder.

The two files I do find have data from 2019-03-04. I guess it’s possible I did something to stop the logging – have no idea how to get it going again.

Ray,
If I remember correctly You are trying to connect your P25 repeater to DMR. You sent pretty complete config files and logs. I requested to see the logs from the two instances of Analog_Bridge during the test. You should be able to run each instance in the foreground and capture the output or grab the log files.
