Geoff,
You do not need YSGFateway between YSFReflector and MMDVM_Bridge

Are you referring to an XLX reflector in C4FM mode?

XLX in C4FM mode is not a real YSF reflector. It is internally a DMR engine performing an automatic TLV conversion to C4FM within the same module.

Thus, to bridge this you can use MMDVM Bridge: YSF reflector on one end while bridge to an XLX DMR on the other end. There are two options to set up DMR XLX:

1) DMR Gateway (simplest)
2) HBlink3 (may need some understanding of Python to troubleshoot during installation)

After that, bridge the existing YSF reflector to the XLX DMR using MMDVM_Bridge. URL information of the instructions already provided previously on this thread. Diagrams on how to set this up as shown below.

YSF Reflector to XLX DMR only:

YSF Refector <-> YSFGateway <-> MMDVM Bridge <-> DMR Gateway (or HBlink3) <-> XLX DMR

YSF Reflector to XLX C4FM:

YSF Refector <-> YSFGateway <-> MMDVM Bridge <-> DMR Gateway (or HBlink3) <-> XLX DMR + YSFGateway to port 42000 of XLX reflector of the same module

The link is a YSF to DMR bridge. That will get you most of the way there.
Look at MMDVM_Bridge.ini for the info for connecting to XLX rather then BM.

How should MMDVM_Bridge.ini and DVSwitch.ini  look like?
Is there anything else I might have overlooked?

All you need to use is MMDVM_Bridge.

Re: Allstarlink

Unfortunately, I can’t really help, other than to ask if you are attempting this installation on Debian Buster. A friend recently ran into this, and ended up using stretch instead, because it just worked.

I have been doing some reading and tinkering and based on this i discovered that libcurl3 is missing from my install and is needed to get allstarlink going
allstarlink is dependent on asl-asterisk which is dependent on libcurl3
so in order to move forward i need to get libcurl3 installed then all should be good, but I am unable to get it to install as it has been replaced by libcurl4
can someone assist here, Steve can you help?

The analog connection from the repeater is a Repeater Builder RB-USB RIM to a Motorola CDM-750.

Thank you for the gain settings, I will take a look and see if it sounds better. The audio did seem like it was coming into the node a little "hot".

Thank you both for the speedy reply!

Justin

Re: #dmrlink Audio Quality Issues #dmrlink

As Mike sais, you may be hot from analog to digital. Take a look at you Analog_Bridge.ini

[USRP]
tlvAudio = AUDIO_UNITY                  ; Analog -> Digital (AUDIO_UNITY, AUDIO_USE_GAIN, AUDIO_BPF)
tlvGain = 0.35                          ; Gain factor when tlvAudio = AUDIO_USE_GAIN (0.0 to 5.0) (1.0 = AUDIO_UNITY)

Change tlvAudio to AUDIO_USE_GAIN
Change tlvGain to .5
Restart Analog_Bridge and retest.
Adjust tlvGain to taste.

I guess there is lots more to know.

In your tests, what is the input to your ASL node, through USB radio interface, Local mic in computer, a asl linked station etc...

In the rough, it sounds like your ASL audio is hot.  Just because it sounds good on asl output does not mean it is correct on the input side.

So before you adjust anything, verify that part or you will be chasing your tail later.

Hi Justin,

What kind of audio fob are you using?

I am also having similar issues. However, I suspect there's something wrong with the audio fob I am using. This is because the audio of my IAX connection via DVSwitch mobile has excellent C4FM/DMR audio output.

I actually found that link late last night and was able to successfully install the DV Switch.

Thank you for the speedy response!!

Dexter,
Are you attempting to build the Allstar node from scratch, or are you using the pre-configured Allstar distributions?

Stay well,
Justin

Are you running as root?
I don't know what several websites are telling you, this is the install instructions <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eN50Csr29eAprBu7eKA0Bfa2XUcsXw5iktY1Ey-Qjkg/edit>

I hit reply to quick lol, we use TG6 once we connected on XLX reflector on pistar.

yes that is correct.

In the example of
bm tg <->MB_bm<->MB_xlx<->XLX ref
how would you direct to a specific BM talkgroup? Just assume TG9 and a static talkgroup on the BM self-care page?

On 4/27/2020 6:23 PM, Eric-K6KWB wrote:
Yes two instances of MMDVM_Bridge:

bm tg <->MB_bm<->MB_xlx<->XLX ref
Point first MB_BM to BM and second MB_XLX point to XLX reflector. On DVSwitch.ini cross DMR port.

If you want XLX <-> YSF you can do the same as you mentioned one instance of MB in another project which I prefer.
