ASL_node_list.txt

Tom Corcoran

Where do I find the ASL_node_list.txt file? I would like to make some modifications but when I do the ./dvswitch.sh collectProcessDataFiles  command, it doesn't appear in /tmp and I get a "ASL node list is not valid, ignoring" message
tnx ..

Do I have to build my own file and pushfile to DVSM? If so, what’s the syntax for ASL modes?

It appears that the ASL node list moved from its  old location in Feb, and I missed it.
I have changed the dvswitch.sh script, and when Steve merges the change, it will be available.

I have updated dvswitch.sh on github.

downloaded new dvswitch.sh … no longer getting error message regarding ASL … all nodes/lists get updated except I see no reference to ASL_node_list.txt file in /tmp directory. Is it stored somewhere else?

Got it. Tnx. will test after dinner.

on a related point, the macros that are programmed by  the Configuration drop down cover 6 of the 10 items that I see on the Dialler macro drop down. Connect Parrot and Disconnect Parrot aren’t adjusted by the Configuration page. How can I access the Parrot Disconnect/Connect Parrot options? I’m using the Configuration macros to initiate ad hoc menus. This app is getting better and better. Tnx guys --

Followed your directions and the nodes_list.txt file uploads to the android device. However, when I initiate the IAX2 ASL profile, select Macro on the Dialer page, select Nodes, select an Allstar node, the command that is issued is a *2 command (i.e. monitor only). How do I change this so it is a *3 command initiating connection?

Hmmm, I have not look at that code  in a while.  Yes, I did make the decision to use monitor  rather than transceive.  You can just do a *3 at the end of the node number to fix it I guess.  The proper solution is to have a dial prefix for ASL in the account setup, but that will not be something I do in the short term.
If you use the AD-Hoc menu it should not add a prefix, so I might suggest that is a good solution for a while

Tom Corcoran

I tried your suggestion … but still getting rx only.

tried
42328 *3|VE3KKF|Baslam Lake

and also
42328*3|VE3KKF|Baslam Lake

did I misunderstand your recommendation?

Sorry, ment *30

so a string like *22100*30 would dial node 2100 in RX mode then change over to TX.  DVSM supplies the *2 so you would not need that in your database.

Mike Zingman - N4IRR

And yes you did misunderstand.

Nodes in  the database (node_list.txt) are preceded by a *2 when invoked from the "Nodes" menu or using the long press for the first 10
Nodes in the "Macro" menu, accessed from the long press of * or the "Macro" dropdown (like Connect to Node 2600) are dialed as is
Nodes in the ad-hoc menu, long press * after loading a new menu with sendtext from the ASL node are dialed as is.

So, If you add to the database, postfix it with *30
If you add it anywhere else, prefix it with *3 to connect in transmit mode.

Works great Mike. tnx a lot. will be a big benefit when mobiling. FWIW, to make testing and loading simpler, I created a much smaller node_list.txt file - only a dozen entries instead of the 15K standard.
